The Star Litter: (Orphans) Accepting Adoption Applications

The Star litter came to us from the Lancaster Animal Shelter on July 3, 2024. They were about a week old. We will call their birthday June 26. Their feral mother had been killed by a car, and the kittens were brought to the Shelter. One of our granddaughters was visiting. She loves star gazing and astronomy. She named the litter and the kittens: Ursa (very small and frail), Cassie, Orion, and Leo.

Update July 10, 2024: Ursa crossed the Rainbow Bridge a few minutes today. I was holding her, keeping her warm and comfortable, and listening as her heart slowed and then stopped beating. She was loved while she was here. Her life was brief, but it had meaning to all who follow these stories.

Update July 22, 2024: We lost Orion today. He had been struggling all week and finally gave up the fight. This was a tough loss.
