The Indian Trails (Feral Orphans – Adopted)
Molly, Maggie, and Misty (The Indian Trails) were born in a derelict pickup truck at an engine repair garage in Indian Trail, NC. The garage owner thinks the mother was most likely hit by a car along the busy road. On March 3, 2022, when I got them, all three kittens were severely dehydrated and malnourished. Judging by their teeth development, they were about three weeks old. All three required glucose to get their sugar levels up, subcutaneous fluids for hydration, and tube feeding because they didn’t have the energy to nurse from a bottle or even to swallow from a syringe. After 72 hours, they perked up nicely and were enthusiastic bottle feeders. All three kittens tested weak positive or FIV (feline leukemia virus). Our partner vet believes they may have residual antibodies from their feral mom. They will all be tested again at 3-6 months old. Molly was adopted with single orphan Otto. Misty was adopted as a single kitten. Maggie is still available to adopt.
