Ginny and the Bomb Squad Litter (Feral Mom) Accepting Adoption Applications

Ginny came to us on March 5, 2024, from the Lancaster SPCA. She had been hit by a car and was found laying across the center line of the road. She was immediately taken to the vet, and although she had no broken bones, she did have minor abrasions and some swelling around one eye. And she was pregnant – two additional heart beats. Ginny is moderately aggressive, and definitely has trust issues, which we are working on. The vet says she is 1 1/2 – 2 years old, so this is probably not her first litter, but it is certainly her last. More to follow as her story continues.

Update March 25, 2024: Ginny gave birth to three healthy kittens this morning. We are calling them the Bomb Squad because every time we try to weigh or handle the kittens, Ginny throws swat bombs at us.

Update March 31, 2024: Ginny has calmed down considerably. Although wary about it, she has even allowed us to pet her. And the Bomb Squad continues to gain weight.

Update April, 1, 2024: We are pretty sure we have one girl, one boy, and one TBD. So, the names reflect the fighting spirit of the Bomb Squads. All the names come from fighter or bomber aircraft. Whitley (F), Havoc (M), and Talon. We are not sure if Talon is male or female, but the name works for either. We are keeping an eye on Havoc. All three kittens had been gaining weight at about 20 grams a day, but Havoc did not gain any weight in the last 24 hours. (Left is Ginny cradling Bomb Squad Whitley.)

Update April 11, 2024: Although Ginny is still wary, she has overcome her fears. She loves food and loves to be touched. Oh, and Talon is female. We are posting Ginny and the Bomb Squad as available for adoption today. We are hoping Ginny will be adopted with one of her kittens.
