Baby Groot (Abandoned Orphan) Adopted with Rocket

Somebody “donated” a cat tree to the Lancaster Animal Shelter over the July 21, 2023, weekend. The Shelter was closed, but when the staff found the tree, they also found a kitten in it. Cat tree + Groot = that’s where our Guardians of the Galaxy kitten got his name.

Groot’s teeth development indicate a July 4, 2023, birthday, but he was so malnourished he was incredibly small. The fun part was when we got some fluids and calories in him, we had this active, tiny kitten with all of the motor abilities of an older kitten. This under 200 gram banshee, with no idea how small he was, attacked the five week old fosters like it was a fair fight. Needless to say, Groot is precious.
